Metal is no longer a boring, agricultural style either… though if you are simply looking for that practical option, we can assist with that as well.  Cladding is now available in different ribbed styles with larger, bulkier options or smaller, simpler ribs.  There are also numerous flat panel options available that give the illusion of seamless siding.  Because we work with multiple suppliers, we can find the right cladding for any project!

We have to take many things into consideration with any project.  This being said, it does not need to be complicated.  We do have to consider various elements to ensure the correct metal is chosen for the project.

When working with a high rise apartment, we give the designer or architect more hardy options that can withstand stronger wind gusts.  Whenever possible, we suggest hidden fastener panel styles because we know harsh weather conditions cannot cause any wear and tear on the fasteners.  This being said, modern technology has come a long way, even with something as simple as fasteners.  Metal cladding screws are now made with neoprene washers that expand and contract in the heat of summer or the cold air of winter.  This means the neoprene adjusts but the screw itself does not move and make the screw hole larger.  Metal itself has such a high resilience rating that it is ideal for these larger projects.

A building that perhaps does not have to worry about such aggressive elements, such as a bungalow style home can focus more on style than.  Not to say there are not options that are both hardy and stylish… but there are certainly more styles to choose from!  Many homeowners like that there are so many different colour options these days.  We have a come a long way from black, brown, and white!  Nowadays there are over a dozen different woodgrain options to choose from.  We also have a faux concrete!  Because the fancier colours are considered a premium, many home owners do a combination of a standard panel-standard colour with a premium colour-premium panel.

Even with homes or main floor building refinishes, we do still ensure all the boxes are checked.  If there is a risk of damage from the elements, we suggest something that is stronger and give some of those same hidden fastener options.  If the building is in a high traffic area, we suggest a sturdier panel that could also be changed out easily if damaged.  There are so many styles available so we do everything we can to match the right panel for the job!

With different types of surface finishing processes for our metal sheet products, each option has its own benefits.  The basic cladding finishes are baked on to offer longevity against our Canadian elements.  The cladding also has multiple layers of paint before they are baked on.  This means that even if a building is hit with hail or a rock flung up from a lawn mower, the integrity of the panel itself will still be okay.  That hard object would have to chip off many layers before it gets down to the bare metal.  Insurance companies love this because they know they will have fewer repairs on a building with metal cladding than one with shingled roofs or vinyl cladding.
