Combining Various Materials for Exteriors

Times have certainly changed in the design world.  Whereas we may have previously only used one type of material or colour on a building’s siding, it is very common in modern design to use various types of materials and styles.  We are seeing more and more that people are choosing combinations and creating a fun style instead of something linear.  Whether it is a combination of metal and stone, or metal and Hardie, or even two different types of metal… we are loving it!  Architects are clearly loving it as well.

With all the benefits that metal provides to a building, it absolutely adds value to any property.  The protection from the elements alone is a huge factor when considering metal as a siding.  Adding the longevity factor with paint finishes and warranties, owners know and understand that metal means less maintenance in the future.  Although it may not be a monetary value add, the beauty of modern finishes creates its own worth.  We are seeing metal supplies push all the boundaries in what their designs can do.

We have learned in our industry that beautiful designs have a domino effect.  Many of our jobs come from seeing what others have done.  Now that steel siding has moved past being only agricultural, home owners and business owners alike are looking for ways of sprucing up their properties.  Beautiful woodgrains or unique textured options are giving individuals a variety of options to choose from so they do not have to worry about matching the next door neighbour.
